Ryder Dunagan is a proud bisexual trans man working toward more accurate LGBTQ+ representation in media, through his passion for screenwriting and acting. When not in production, Ryder works as a freelance IT Manager and web designer, and engages in his hobbies of Dungeons & Dragons and hiking. Since moving to LA in 2018, Ryder has worked on numerous productions, including The L Word: Gen Q, Netflix’s ‘The Upshaws’, and Nickelodeon’s ‘Danger Force’. After meeting Tara Jenkins during a USC student film and becoming fast friends, Tara and Ryder began working on Day-Bi-Day in 2018, and in 2021 the script was selected as a Second Rounder in the Script Competition at the 2021 Austin Film Festival.

Tara Jenkins (she/her) is a queer multi-hyphenate based out of Los Angeles. She is passionate about giving a platform to stories from the margins. She is a proud member of IATSE Local 600 and a staff writer at American Cinematographer magazine. She has her MFA in Film Production from USC, where she fell in love with camera work and also met her writing partner, Ryder Dunagan. Together, they have worked on Day Bi Day for the last four years, including making it to the second round of AFF with the script in 2021. Tara’s work as a writer and director won her film Lemon Cake the Audience Award at the Da Vinci International Film Festival in 2020.

Day-Bi-Day follows Seb and Josie, a pair of 20-something best friends who share struggles, secrets, and a queen sized mattress while attempting to find love and success in the wild world of behind the scenes Hollywood. Tara and Ryder began working on the script in 2018, and attempted to shoot the series themselves but an unfortunate hard drive crash marked that attempt as a failure. Then, in the midst of the pandemic they made contact with a production company that expressed interest in producing the series before subsequently ghosting them. Finally, at the end of 2022, Tara and Ryder decided to self-fund the project and after four years of having this script, successfully shot Day-Bi-Day in January of 2023 with the help of an amazing team who worked tirelessly over the course of 6 days to make it happen. Now they are diving into post production and working to get the series ready to share with the world.
